The machine park of REMAL Sp. z o.o. is not only about multi-ton lathes and large-format CNC milling machines. It also includes precision tools that determine quality at stages where every detail matters – including the marking of finished components, structures, and parts. That is why we are proud to announce that the Handjet® EBS-260 has joined our equipment – a handheld inkjet printer that is absolutely unique on a global scale. Compact, yet technologically advanced. Lightweight, yet capable of things no other device of this type can achieve.
A device that is unique on the market
The manufacturer of the EBS-260, the Polish company EBS Ink-Jet Systems, does not without reason speak of this device with exceptional pride: “Currently, there is no other printer like this on the market. We are the first to succeed in enclosing such complex technology in such a compact device.” This is not marketing exaggeration – it is a technical fact appreciated by specialists worldwide.
The EBS-260 is an industrial-class handheld inkjet printer that fits in the palm of your hand and weighs only 1.58 kg with a full ink tank. Its dimensions are 268 x 88 x 316 mm – smaller than a standard laptop. Yet inside this technical polyamide housing is technology that enables printing with precision and capabilities unmatched by any other portable device in the world.
For REMAL – a company that has been carrying out the most demanding industrial projects since 1995 and supplying components across Europe – such a tool is a natural extension of the machine park. Because excellence in manufacturing goes hand in hand with excellence in marking.
Printing in any position, on any surface
What makes the EBS-260 an absolutely unique tool is its ability to operate in all conditions and on virtually any surface – without exceptions.
The device prints freely on:
- metals – including steel structures, pipes, profiles, sheets, and castings
- wood and wood-based materials – pallets, logs, boards
- concrete and precast elements – without loss of print quality
- plastics – PVC pipes, insulation covers, panels
- cardboard and paperboard – packaging and bulk labels
- ceramics and porcelain
- fabrics and nonwovens
- polystyrene foam
Moreover, the printer operates in any position: horizontal, vertical, angled, overhead. It enables marking on surfaces inaccessible to other devices. Printing is possible even on wet or curved surfaces, and special stabilizers facilitate work on pipes, edges, and curved shapes.
For a facility like REMAL, where components of highly diverse shapes and sizes are produced – from small parts to multi-meter steel structures – such flexibility is of fundamental practical importance.
Print parameters – precision invisible to the naked eye
The EBS-260 prints with a resolution of up to 32 dots vertically and a maximum print width of 4000 pixels, with a print height of up to 58 mm. In a single pass, the device can print up to 5 lines of text – including graphics, barcodes, or QR codes.
The device supports over 40 formats of 1D codes (including EAN, Code128, Code39, UPC) as well as 2D codes (QR, Data Matrix, PDF417). It can print plain text, dates and times, automatic counters, graphics, logos, and variable data imported from external sources.
Print positioning is assisted by a built-in laser pointer, which precisely indicates the print location before the trigger is pressed. This small detail significantly reduces errors and waste in practice – especially in serial marking, where any misalignment means rework or rejection.
Battery-powered, wireless, always ready
The EBS-260 is powered by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 64.8 Wh, providing up to 16 hours of continuous operation under typical intensive use. This means a full working shift – and more – without the need for mains power.
The lack of a power cable is a major advantage in industrial environments. The operator can move freely around the production hall, construction site, or assembly area without limitations caused by cable length. The printer is always at hand – literally, as it comes with a holster with a waist belt that allows the device to accompany the worker throughout the entire shift.
The 200 ml ink tank allows printing approximately 200,000 characters using a standard 7×5 matrix. This is extremely high efficiency for a device of this size.
Connectivity and interface – an industrial printer with a digital core
The EBS-260 is equipped with a 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD, enabling full operation without a computer. Print designs can be created and edited directly on the device and then printed immediately in the field.
For more advanced applications, it offers USB, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity, while projects can be prepared using the EBS Web User Interface – an intuitive design environment available both online and offline. It allows template design, variable data management, and export of ready projects directly to the printer.
The operating temperature range is +5°C to +40°C, with humidity up to 95% non-condensing – parameters typical for production halls, construction sites, and warehouses where conditions are often unpredictable.
Inks for every material
Seven ink colors are available for the EBS-260: black, red, blue, green, white, brown, and transparent (UV – visible only under UV light). The inks are based on different solvent bases: ethanol, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, or water – allowing selection of the appropriate formulation depending on durability and substrate type.
This is crucial in industrial environments where markings must withstand transport, storage, surface processing, and sometimes exposure to weather conditions. REMAL, executing projects for the energy, steel, and construction industries, knows perfectly well that durable and legible marking is not aesthetics – it is a technological and often legal requirement.
A tool worth its price
The EBS-260 is a premium-class device – and should be treated as such. Investing in a precise industrial marking tool is an investment in the quality of the entire production process. At REMAL, we believe that the highest standards apply at every stage – from welding and machining to final marking of the finished component.
The Handjet® EBS-260 proves that precision knows no compromise – even when the tool is held in a single hand.
